As the only course coded with LAW at Sabanci University, Comparative
Legal Thought (LAW 310) helps students to have a sound understanding of
the significance of law in the society we are living in; acquire
knowledge of the sources of law and of the judicial system; be familiar
with daily legal discussions; and also, to some extent, be able to
comment on some legal issues.
There is, however, definitely no need to have studied law or any
other similar subjects, nor is a familiarity with Turkish or other
country specific law necessary. Since the course is designed to give
basic legal knowledge to students coming from different backgrounds,
exchange students at Sabanci University are also encouraged for the
course.
